Meet our Board of Directors

Elizabeth Armijo- President

Elizabeth Armijo is an independent contractor specializing in project management, marketing, and public relations. She is also a principal agent with ORG Agents, LLC. and provides creative consultation to a wide variety of diverse businesses for large and small initiatives. Her career has been rooted in promoting health and wellness through education and resources and eliminating barriers to accessing health services. Currently her other board affiliations include the NAACP Albuquerque Branch, the Albuquerque Public School Board, and Southwest Learning Centers.

Jim Dye – Vice President, Treasurer

Hello, my name is Jimmy Dye. I have been in the fire service going on 28 years. I have been a NM Paramedic for 25 years now. I have recently retired from the Bernalillo County Fire Department and currenly serve as an adjunct instructor for the New Mexico Firefighters Training Academy. I spend the majority of my time coaching high school baseball. I have a living wife, Alexandra, for 19 years now. We have 2 sons: Zach who is finishing his freshman year at ENMU, and Xander who is an 8th grader at Taylor Middle School. I currenly serve the foundation as Treasure. Thank you for supporting us!

Terry Harris – Executive Director

Terry started her career as an account executive for a local television station. In 1987, Terry founded Information Systems of New Mexico, a kiosk network that promoted area cultural and retail attractions to visitors in Albuquerque and throughout New Mexico. She had the business for 20 years. Terry has been the executive Director of the Heart Hospital of New Mexico for over 10 years.

Harvey J. White MD, FACC

Dr. White is a leading Interventional Cardiologist. Dr. White is Founder and Executive Director of Vessel Health, a ground-breaking medical enterprise that focuses on cardiovascular wellbeing. Former developer and Medical Director of the Heart Hospital of New Mexico, Dr. White has also served as Governor of the American College of Cardiology, President of the American Heart Association, President of the Greater Albuquerque Medical Association, and leader of the Southwest Heart Foundation. Through Vessel Health he maintains a commitment to personalized preventive healthcare, as well as to the health of the greater community. Dr. White is also the Founder of the Heart Hospital of New Mexico Foundation.

Cynthia Sanchez Bleicher

Cynthia Sanchez Bleicher is a Financial Executive with Mainstay Financial Group-Retirement and Legacy Planning. She is a graduate of New Mexico State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. She has been in the marketing and sales industry for 20 years.

Devin Lujan

Devin Lujan is a Provider Liaison for Lovelace Health System supporting the cardiovascular, neurosciences, pulmonary critical care and emergency service programs. A New Mexico native, Devin is a veteran of the United States Army, and has worked in the New Mexico health care market for over a decade. She is also the co-founder of the Lovelace Resuscitation Rangers, a volunteer program that teaches community members Early Heart Attack Care, Hands-Only CPR and use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

Eric Strauss

Compelling, incendiary and passionate are just a few words used to describe Eric Strauss. He is a motivational speaker, DJ, professional boxing announcer and the owner of Achievement Driving School located on the St. Pius Campus. Eric is a Golden Apple Award winning, National Board-Certified Educator for over 20 years, a die-hard Lobo fan, and the host of The House of Strauss on 94.5 FM and AM 770 KKOB every Saturday and Sunday from 7am-10am.

Eric works hard in the community and currently serves as a board member and Spokesman for Los Ojos De La Familia. He has two beautiful children and is married to Linda Strauss. Eric truly “Makes a Difference” in the lives of many New Mexicans!

Paula Bates

Paula is originally from St. Louis, Missouri. As a marketing and development professional, Paula has been connecting people and products for more than 25 years. Her experience covers a wide range of employers and clients, from a national television group to nonprofits, advertising agencies, and several scrappy start-ups. Her career continues to be lively thanks to the opportunity with the Heart Hospital of New Mexico Foundation.
